Electrician web design Houston — for companies people search for when the power is out

Beryl left about 2.8 million Texas customers without power. Four days later a million were still out. Every one of them spent that week searching on a phone battery they were trying to conserve.

Electrician web design Houston earns its money in the week nobody has power. Generator quotes, panel upgrades, storm damage, transfer switches — the demand arrives all at once and goes to whoever the homeowner found first. If your site is slow, vague about what you fix, or silent after six, you are paying to generate calls that somebody else answers.

VERDICT 01

How reliable is power in Houston, really?

Reliable enough that people do not plan for it, and unreliable enough that they panic when it goes.

The 2021 freeze was a different failure at a different level: ERCOT ordered roughly 20,000 MW of rolling blackouts, and more than 4.5 million people lost power, some for as long as four days.

Two events, three years apart, both ending with a county full of people typing “electrician near me” into a phone at 12 per cent battery.

VERDICT 02

What happens to an electrical enquiry that arrives at nine at night?

For most Houston electrical companies, the honest answer is: it waits until morning.

A burning smell from a panel, a dead circuit in a house with a newborn, a generator that will not start on the second night of an outage — none of these wait politely. The homeowner works down the list until somebody answers.

That gap is the single most expensive thing in the whole operation, and it is not a website problem or a phone problem. It is the space between the two.

VERDICT 03

What does a Houston electrical lead actually cost you?

Before deciding what a website is worth, work out what you already pay to make one phone ring.

Roughly ninety dollars to make one phone ring — and in an outage week every electrical company in the county is bidding on the same words at once.

Two after-hours enquiries a week that never get called back is about $9,000 a year in lead cost alone, before counting the jobs. Hold any quote against that number, including ours.

VERDICT 04

Does your website tell Google which electrical work you actually do?

“Electrician” and “whole home generator installation Houston” are not the same search, and a site that only says the first will not appear for the second.

Most electrical sites we look at have one Services page listing everything in a paragraph. Google cannot tell whether you do panel upgrades, standby generators, EV chargers, commercial work or rewires, whether you turn out at night, or which parts of Harris County you actually drive to.

The fix is unglamorous: one clear page per job type, real service-area detail, and schema that states plainly what you do and where. It is the difference between being findable and being listed.

VERDICT 05

How fast should an electrician site load on a phone at twelve per cent battery?

Under two seconds, on mobile data, because the wifi is out too.

That visitor has no patience and no loyalty, and this time they also have a reason to close tabs. A four-second load is not a mild inconvenience — it is the moment they give up on you, and you paid $8.33 for that click.

Speed is not a vanity metric on an emergency trade site. It is the last step between the click you bought and the call you wanted.

WHAT WE BUILD

What electrician web design actually includes when we do it

Six things, and the fourth is the one that usually pays for the whole build.

A site built around the outage search

Phone number visible before anything loads, one-tap calling, and emergency availability stated above the fold. Light enough to open on a dying battery.

A page for each job you want to be called about

Standby generators, panel upgrades, rewires, EV chargers, storm damage, commercial, inspections. Each written for the person searching that specific thing.

Service areas that match where you actually drive

Real coverage for the parts of Harris County and the surrounding areas you work, so you stop appearing for jobs ninety minutes away and start appearing for the ones next door.

An enquiry that gets answered in seconds, not hours

The AI integration that acknowledges the message, confirms when a human will call, and asks the one question that tells you whether this is dangerous or a quote.

A Google Business Profile that is actually finished

Correct hours including emergency availability, the right primary category, real photos of your work, and a review process that runs every week rather than once a year.

Speed and search work included, not sold to you later

Compression, schema, sitemaps and Core Web Vitals are part of the build. Not a retainer we introduce three months in.

MEASUREMENT

How will you know whether the website actually worked?

Four numbers, taken before we start and again at thirty and ninety days. You get them whether they flatter us or not.

Mobile load time

Measured on a real phone on mobile data, before the build and after. This is the one that decides whether the click you paid for becomes a visit.

Calls from the website

Tracked separately from your main line, so you can see which enquiries the site produced rather than guessing.

Out-of-hours enquiries answered

How many arrived after six, and how many got a reply the same evening. If you take the enquiry layer, this is the number it has to move.

Google Business Profile actions

Calls and direction requests from the map listing, which for most electrical companies is a bigger source than the website itself.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Electrician web design Houston: what owners ask first

Two to four weeks for a standard build of up to ten pages, assuming you can get us photos and your service list. We would rather take three weeks and get the service pages right than rush a template out in five days.

On its own, sometimes. Combined with a finished Google Business Profile and something that answers out of hours, more reliably — because most electrical companies are not losing on design, they are losing on speed and availability.

That is what the enquiry layer is for. When the power goes out across the county and eighty people enquire in two days, the site can acknowledge every one and sort the emergencies from the quotes.

Only if you are genuinely missing after-hours enquiries. We will look at where your calls arrive before recommending it, and if the volume is not there we will say so.

They stay yours. Everything is registered in your name from day one, and if you leave us nothing switches off and nothing needs untangling.

Often, and it is usually cheaper. If a rebuild is not the right answer we will tell you on the call.

NEXT STEP

Tell us where your enquiries are arriving. We will tell you what is leaking.

Thirty minutes, no obligation, and we will happily talk you out of a rebuild you do not need.
